Easy Holiday Gift Wrapping Ideas

Buying your loved ones the perfect holiday gifts can be time consuming and of course, expensive. After completing the seemingly endless task of finding each friend and family member a personal and thoughtful gift, wrapping those many gifts can become even more daunting. You could of course pay to have someone else wrap them for you, but why skip out on the personal touch when all of your wrapping needs can be found right at home? These 4 wrapping alternatives will save you time and money, and spare no ounce of holiday cheer.

1. Newspaper – Give your gifts a vintage feel by wrapping presents with old newspapers. Children’s gifts become even more charming once wrapped in the paper’s classic comics, while athletics obsessed fathers (like mine) will find sports section wrapping paper endearing and heartfelt. Elevate each package with A sparkly bow or glittery ribbon that will enhance the artistic vibe and make each gift truly unforgettable.

2. Tissue Paper – We all have too much of this stuff laying around the house so wrapping presents is a quick way to trim down the collection. Use multiple layers of tissue paper to create a soft, yet solid covering for your special gift, or use single sheets to achieve a more transparent effect. Finish the package with some burlap string and a chalkboard tag. This will give the most common tissue papers a balanced and magical look.

3. Tin foil - Yes, tin foil. And the best part...no tape required! Dress up this simple household item with some red twine and an adorable left over gift tag.

4. Brown paper bag - Now you can finally put all those brown paper bags you have been saving up to good use! Glue on some pom poms in a festive shape and write the to: / from: in black sharpie right on the paper for elegant minimalism at it’s best!
